Work experience-game evaluation

You are going to carry out FIVE in-depth game evaluations, using the supplied templates.

Each game you evaluate must be from a different genre. For example, action/adventure, FPS, strategy, RPG, simulator, puzzle etc. Try to choose a wide range of games to evaluate. This is not about what you like, but your skills in analysing games.

There must be at least three different types of platforms used in your evaluations. For example, console, handheld, PC, smartphone, tablet or arcade.

Ensure that you play each game for at least 45 minutes before starting your evaluation. You may have to return to the game to complete the paperwork and some games will require more gameplay that others.

Your findings must be methodically and carefully recorded. Be clear and concise with your language. You will need to take time to play the games, answer the questions and complete the supplied paperwork. Write notes first and then type up each evaluation. The template is available within the WRA Moodle course. Each of your five evaluations needs to be printed, signed and dated and submitted to me.

The evaluations you produce will be checked and signed off by Jordan Eastwood, formerly Lead QA Tester at Sony Corporation, Liverpool. The evaluation pack will be submitted with your WRA booklet for internal verification sampling.
